Mikayla & Marco: Sports Pics with Attitude

I got a chance to play a bit in the studio this weekend with Mikayla and Marco and snap some sports pics unlike that of which I would typically do. A BIG thank you to Shanda (Mom) 'cause she said "Do whatever you want, I trust you." I love it when clients allow me to do this as it allows me stretch a bit more creatively and not always go for the "safe" shot, not that there's anything wrong with that. I lit these a bit more dramatically to give an edgier look with attitude. Hope you like. I can't wait to show you the collage I'm going to build with these and the other "dive into the bean bag" action shots we did. It's going to be killer.

Married: Jeremy & Kyla

This is a bit retroactive since I photographed Jeremy and Kyla's wedding prior to starting my blog but I was so excited about my favorite pics that I had to share. The wedding took place in Oakhurst, just south of Yosemite, at Erna's Elderberry House. If you've never experienced Erna's, I would highly recommend it. The grounds (chateau, spa du sureau, restaurant), and guest service is nothing like I've ever seen and was a perfect location for J&K's destination wedding. The details were amazing. From Kyla's Vera Wang dress, the personalized vows, the hand written seating assignments for both ceremony and dinner, the floral arrangements, tables settings, and the gardenia embellished 3-tier cake, nothing was missed. Married: Jason and Marisa

It seems lately that I've been shooting weddings with large bridal parties so it was a nice change of pace when I found out that Jason and Marisa were only going to have Cal (Jason's brother) and Hayley (Marisa's sister) as the Best Man and Matron of Honor to make up the bridal party. It was very fitting since Jason and Marisa were surrounded only by their closest family and friends at Marisa's father's amazing private residence in Springville called Battle Mountain Ranch. It was a photographer's playland as there were so many beautiful things to photograph, especially the intimate ceremony on the steps of the santuario (sanctuary) where they shared their own written vows. Engaged: Anthony & Jamie

Whoa! Did we have some fun on this engagement shoot! I haven't laughed this hard in a while. Their laugh was so contagious I couldn't help but giggle, not to mention that Anthony gave me some of the craziest expressions I've ever seen in front of my lens. Egging him on was his soon to be mother-in-law Anna (an amazing wedding planner) and soon to be sis-in-law Tatiana (whom I hijacked as my assistant for the shoot). Thanks Tatiana. We started off at the Amtrak station which has become a part of where Anthony and Jamie spend a bit of their time since they currently have a long distance relationship. Next we got to play at a football field for some action shots and then headed off to the River Park area to finish off the evening with a few more pics, dinner and a night cap.
